What is After Bac II: Choose Your Next Step about?

After Bac II, the exam result arrives before many students know what to study, what the work they admire actually involves, or what their family can afford. Across 12 lessons, the book moves from separating an exam score from self-worth to testing interests in small trials, comparing study and skills routes by their full costs, and investigating programs beyond their advertising. Those checks become the basis for a family conversation and a one-month plan with a realistic alternative if the first route changes.

Free preview: 1. An exam result is not a whole life

A result and a person

Imagine Dara sitting with his family after the results arrive. One person asks about his grade. Another compares him with a neighbor's child. Before anyone asks what he wants to learn, Dara begins to feel that his future has already been decided. When people around us talk about only one result, it becomes easy to mistake that result for our whole identity.

Exam results have real consequences. They may affect which options are open to you now. But they do not measure everything you can learn later. Listening to a customer, correcting faulty work, and continuing to learn through difficulty also take time to develop. Admitting that a result was disappointing does not require you to conclude that you have no value.

Separate facts from labels

Try separating what is in your head into two parts. One contains what happened: subjects you struggled with and entry requirements you do not yet meet. The other contains labels you are putting on yourself, such as “I am stupid” or “I am behind everyone.” You can use the first part to make a plan. The second often stops you from asking questions that could help.

If you did not get the result you needed, start by asking official sources about the available routes. Do not assume that every school has the same requirements or that a friend knows more than the admissions office. If you did well, do not accept a path you do not understand simply because it fits other people's praise. Both disappointment and praise can make us rush.

Find the next question

You do not have to make a major decision on a day when your feelings are especially strong. Rest first if time allows, then return to the actual deadlines. Ask, “Which decision must I make now, and which can wait for more information?” This reduces confusion without postponing everything until an opportunity disappears.

On one sheet of paper, write what you know, what you need to ask, and one person who could help answer. You do not need a complete life plan by the end of this lesson. You need a better next question. Dara cannot change yesterday's score, but he can choose whom to speak to tomorrow.
