Thinking, Fast and Slow — Book Summary
សង្ខេបសៀវភៅ «គិតលឿន គិតយឺត»
What is Thinking, Fast and Slow about?
Daniel Kahneman examines how people form judgments and make choices through automatic impressions and deliberate thought. Drawing on research with Amos Tversky and others, he explains statistical errors, overconfidence, reference points and framing, then explores the tension between lived experience and remembered happiness.

Recognizing Predictable Errors
People often feel sure before they have good reasons to be sure. Daniel Kahneman examines recurring mistakes in judgment and choice, drawing especially on his work with Amos Tversky. Their starting point was personal: even experienced researchers, including themselves, could reason poorly about chance. They used questions that allowed readers to feel an appealing answer and then discover why it was unreliable. Learning names for these predictable errors can help people discuss decisions more precisely.
Resemblance Is Not Probability
Consider someone described as quiet, orderly and interested in detail. A librarian may immediately come to mind. Yet deciding whether that person is a librarian or a farmer also requires knowing how common each occupation is. Resemblance alone cannot settle the question. This conflict between an easy impression and relevant statistical evidence runs through the book. Kahneman does not claim that intuition usually fails. Much ordinary thought works remarkably well. His aim is to identify conditions in which it becomes unreliable, often more easily recognized by an informed observer than by the person making the decision.
